Bayswater, WA: Agent seemingly sells dilapidated Grey St property

A real estate agent has managed to sell a West Australian property that he publicly described as the worst he had seen.

Interested buyers in the rundown residence on Grey St in Bayswater were urged by its realtor, Gary Warne, to “detonate” the structure.

“In all of my years in real estate I don’t think I have seen a house that is cosmetically worse,” Mr Warne said in the property listing.

“The building itself looks okay, not that I am a builder (make your own investigations there), but boy does this place need work.

“To give you some idea, if I was buying it, I would turn off the power, rip out all cabinetry and floor coverings then power wash all of the walls and windows before starting.”

The eerie three-bedroom abode has had its interior adorned with various dreamcatchers – arguably in a bid to defuse the nightmares of wandering interior designers.

“But let’s not forget the detonate part,” Mr Warne urged.

The agent confirmed on Friday that he sold the potentially poltergeist-packed property on Tuesday January 31 “for a very good price”.

“I had people come out and nearly throw up,” he said.

“But we ended up with 13 offers and over 102 groups of buyers through the home over a four-week period.

“For the open home I stood out at the front, it was the only place I could put my iPad down without getting it dirty – I used the top of the bin.

“Most of them said it’s pretty sound, just really dirty.”
